About the course


Our keeper for a day experience gives you the chance to get stuck in and find out what it is like to be an animal technician. You will be working alongside dedicated technicians across all of our animal sections and get to see first-hand what it is like to work with animals.

This is only available on certain dates throughout the year and places are subject to availability.

Interest in working in the animal care industry

What will the course involve?

· Prepare and then serve food to different animal species

· Help clean out enclosures of different animal species

· Health checks and handling of appropriate animal species

How long will I be learning?

What equipment will I need?

Candidates should wear closed-toe, rubber soled, non-slip footwear e.g. wellingtons.

How will I know if I am making progress?

Feedback throughout the day

This day will give you a good insight into working within the industry and if it is an option you would like to pursue.
