2 Day Junior Tractor Driving Course

About the course

Brief Description of the Course/ Course Units:

This course is designed to offer advice to the 13- to 16-year-old tractor operator on how to safely operate the modern agricultural tractor and related machinery. Once the basic safety issues have been covered it is designed to be very practical and hands on, with plenty of opportunity to drive the machines.

All areas of the tractor are covered which include:

· Trailers

· Three-point linkage

· Power Take Off (restricted operation covered due to HSE guidelines).

The training is carried out between the College's Engineering Unit and the purpose-built machine operation area on the campus. Although it is not an assessment-based course a certificate of attendance is given to all trainees up on completion which will satisfy HSE training requirements.
