Work Based Tutor in Traineeship 0.7 – based at Preston

An exciting opportunity to join the Apprenticeship and Skills department has arisen as a Work Based Tutor in Traineeship.

This is an opportunity to work employers and apprentices, for the delivery of traineeship programmes to learners on courses in Preston and Salford but delivery may go beyond this area as part of intervention support or bespoke delivery by workplace visits and classroom based theory lessons within industry sites. The role involves daily management of a caseload of apprentices, engaging new employers and apprentices and ensuring that apprentices are ready for assessment at the end of their qualification.

 It is essential you hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in a related subject, Significant industry experience in a related subject – Employability, a Teaching Qualification e.g. CET’P, PTTLLS or equivalent and a full Assessors Award or be willing to achieve both of these within an agreed time scale alongside GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above.

 You will also have a flexible approach to your work, hold a full driving licence and be comfortable to travel as required. In addition, you must have sound industrial experience with a passion to imparting this knowledge on to new apprentices in the workplace, along with strong administration and organisational skills and high levels of attention to detail.

This role will ideally suit someone with existing educational experience or someone looking for a career change. Full training and support will be given by the college including a mentor.

The role is 25.9 hours per week.

The salary is £19,241 - £31,379 per annum, pro rata, in accordance with qualifications and experience
