Work Based Tutor in Construction Plant, Rail & Land Based Engineering

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Apprenticeship & Skills Team as a Work-Based Tutor for Construction Plant, Rail and Land-based Engineering 

As a Work Based Tutor in Construction Plant, Rail and Land-based Engineering you will work nationally to....

Develop apprentice's knowledge, skills and behaviours to the Construction Plant, Rail and Land-based Engineering occupational standards with the support and re-enforcement of their employers to ensure successful achievement (within a given timeframe) of their end point assessments (apprenticeship standards)

Carry out a thorough initial assessment and sign-up process, including Health & Safety appraisals of apprentice workplaces to ensure it meets the Health & Safety requirements, providing a safe and supportive learning environment.

Deliver the apprenticeship programmes to apprentices on courses based nationally (apprenticeship standards)

Carry out progress reviews at timely points in an academic year with apprentices (on site & remotely)

NB: There may also be an element of group delivery (on Preston's campus) at busy times of the academic year.

 

The successful candidate will have significant industry experience in a related subject, a Level 3 or above subject related qualification and GCSE (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths. 

It is desirable that the successful candidate should have or be willing to work towards a Teaching qualification e.g. CET’P, PTLLS or equivalent, a TAQA Level 3 Assessor qualification, Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace and an Internal Verification qualification.

The salary range is £20,657 - £29,880 per annum per annum relating to qualifications and experience.
