Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Farriery 0.6 based at Preston Campus

Myerscough School of Farriery Science is looking to recruit a dynamic Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Farriery to join our team. As a farriery lecturer you will be responsible for helping with the shoeing, care and appropriate treatment of the College equine and Lancashire Constabulary stock, as required. You will also have responsibility for the development, management, assessment and delivery of traditional and online farriery courses within the department, as required.

It is essential that you are a Qualified Farrier registered with the FRC with considerable practical / industry experience as well a teaching qualification e.g. PGCE or Cert Ed, or equivalent, or be willing to undertake this in a given period of time. Experience of working with access to Farriery / Forgework and apprentice farriery students in some capacity, a good working knowledge of the Farriery training scheme, as well as GCSE (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths, are essential.

The role is 22.2 hours per week (3 days) - smaller fractional posts may be considered during the interview and recruitment process.

The salary is £23,202 to £35,640 per annum, pro rata, according to qualifications and experience. Teacher qualified staff commence at minimum £24,345.
