Herdsperson
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, progressive and skilled Assistant Herdsperson to join our team. You will be responsible for assisting with the day to day management of the College herd to maintain a rolling herd average around 10,000L with mixed grazing and intensive feeding operations. This will include monitoring feed stocks, feeding and checking Dairy and Beef cattle including monitoring and adjusting feed levels whilst grazing. The farm is looking for the right candidate who is committed to working at the highest standards and capable of improving performance further.
The successful candidate must have a minimum of Level 3 in Agriculture or relevant sector and/or evidence of suitable agricultural practical experience.
Salary in the region of £29,000. Minimum salary will be 90% of £29,000 with an agreed progression to maximum based on mile stones, relating to qualifications and experience. Inclusive of overtime, based on an average of 65 hours per week. To include alternate weekends and night checks.
