Head of Teaching & Learning - based at our Preston Campus

As Head of Teaching & Learning you will provide visionary leadership of teaching and learning across Myerscough College. You will need to be researched focused and promote a culture of excellence and innovation in teaching and learning, ensuring staff have access to evidence based knowledge and thinking in respect of the latest teaching and learning strategies. You will work closely with the Director of Quality & Performance to ensure that observation of teaching and learning reporting systems and targets are consistent across the College and are owned and understood by teaching teams.

We are looking for a positive, committed and motivated individual who can work well under pressure and to deadlines. To be successful, you will have strong analytical, IT and communication skills and be able to build good relationships with a wide range of colleagues. Experience of quality assurance processes and sound knowledge of FE, HE, apprenticeships and work-based learning is essential to the success of the role.

This is a great opportunity for someone with substantial experience of performing at a high level in a previous role(s), which will include teaching, leading to evidenced positive outcomes.  You will also have experience of successfully raising standards and performance with a team or cross-college, to exceed national benchmarks with a proven track record for the promotion and monitoring of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment.

If you have a Degree or Level 6 qualification in a related subject, and a Teaching qualification e.g. PGCE / Cert Ed (or equivalent) and you are interested in the role – please apply.

It would be desirable to have Management, leadership or coaching qualification and/or a Masters level qualification in education or management.

The role is 37 hours per week.

The salary range is £ £27,570 to £35,287 per annum, relating to qualifications and experience
