About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Animal Studies Team as a Casual Animal Care Technician
In this role of Casual Animal Care Technician, under the direction of full-time staff, you will be responsible for the maintenance and promotion of high animal welfare standards and care at all times in compliance with Animal Welfare Act 2006 and relevant Codes of Practice across our range of small animal, exotic and large animals at the Witton Pak campus based in Blackburn.
You will also provide reliable and regular Bank holiday and college holiday cover and to be available on rota basis to support the animal unit.
It is essential the successful candidate has GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or an equivalent standard), Level 3 animal management qualification or working towards higher and have successfully carried out or be in the process of carrying out work placement in an animal collection.
The role is casual hours –and will include weekends and holiday period cover
