Campus Support Officer (Security)- Term Time Only (34 Weeks per Year)

The College seeks the appointment of a Campus Support Officer to join the Student Support Team.

The successful candidate will be highly visible around the Campus maintaining the safety and security of students, staff and visitors. You will be a front-line campus support officer working directly with students and staff, maintaining a proactive presence and dealing effectively with incidents, de-escalating volatile situations and managing behaviour across the campus.

You will work as part of the College Student Support and Welfare team to maximise the experience for all students as well as deliver and facilitate positive activities and personal development awareness activities, such as positive online behaviours, anti-bullying, health and wellbeing topics.

The successful candidate will be a flexible and proactive individual with excellent communication skills. You should have a positive approach to work and be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team. Due to the nature of this role, long periods of time will be spent working outdoors monitoring and maintaining campus security, therefore an appropriate level of physical fitness is required.

In addition, you must have GCSE, or equivalent at Grade C/4 or above in English (or equivalent standard), along with experience of working with young people and be able to understand their range of issues within an educational setting, along with a good understanding of the issues around student support and safeguarding.

You will be based at the Preston Campus but may work across all our Centres.

Salary: £15,796- £17,765, per annum, pro rata dependant and qualifications and experience.
