Assistant Head of Apprenticeship & Skills: Engineering & Traineeships based at Preston Campus

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Assistant Head of Apprenticeship and Skills with a specific focus on managing both the Colleges Engineering Apprenticeship and Traineeship provision.

The successful candidate will join a forward thinking and dynamic management team to drive forward both traineeship and apprenticeship growth in these areas. The candidate needs to be an excellent manager or have the potential to an excellent manager, ensuring effective programme management and the delivery of inspirational teaching, learning and assessment to meet the expectations of the college and industry. You must have excellent administration and planning skills as well as being an effective communicator with the ability to proactively work with external partners and sub-contractors. This position will line manage a number of staff and will be based out of the Preston campus with the oversight of some outreach delivery.

The successful candidate will have a Level 5 (Equivalent) or higher qualification, PTTLS / PCET qualification, a PGCE / Cert Ed. Teaching Qualification or willing to work towards within set timeframe as well as a good understanding of current Apprenticeship Standards and funding rules and good knowledge of Technology Enhanced Learning plus a proven track record in delivering staff CPD, designing and delivering learning programmes, using data to performance manage and effective curriculum planning and timetabling alongside GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or an equivalent standard).
