The First Diploma in Sports Studies provides you with an introduction to playing and organising a wide range of sports. You will play sports as well as looking at some of the theory behind things such as fitness and training and dealing with injuries. You will learn about how to plan and deliver sports activity sessions and how best to organise sporting events.

There is plenty of opportunity to use the excellent College facilities including the sports hall, gym, sports laboratory, artificial outdoor playing surface, winter sports pitches and the golf course. This course provides an excellent starting point if at 16 you want to go and work in the sports industry or if you would like to progress to a full time course.

Students who successfully complete the course may wish to study full time at Myerscough or at another college. The courses available at Myerscough would be the full time two year National Diploma Sport and Exercise Sciences or the National Diplomas in Golf Studies, Football Studies or Rugby Studies.
