Basketball Academy sign major sponsorship deal

Myerscough Basketball Academy has agreed a partnership with Pure Leisure Group.

The sponsorship is over a number of years and will include facility sponsorship of Myerscough’s High Performance Centre for Sport at the College’s main Bilsborrow campus. The partnership also includes jersey sponsorship, as well as courtside advertising and game day features. It’s hoped rthe deal will help to provide Myerscough’s student athletes with a unique experience to study and grow.

Myerscough Basketball Academy Programme Leader and Head Coach, Neal Hopkins, said: “This is a huge step forward for the Academy and really allows us to enhance the experience of our students whilst they are with us.

‘’The sponsorship will go towards funding additional competitions and will allows us to add a new level of professional to the programme.

“It’s an exciting partnership which I am sure will have a long lasting impact on our student’s journey. I am very hopeful that this is the start of something that can really help propel us to new heights.”

Pure Leisure Group was founded in 2004 by Preston-born entrepreneur John Morphet, and currently operates six holiday lodges and caravan parks in the Southern Lake District, with a further three in Northamptonshire and East Anglia. Pure Leisure Group also provides other leisure facilities with classes, pools, saunas and steam rooms.

In 2013 John Morphet was awarded a Myerscough College Fellowship in recognition of his achievements in the Leisure, Tourism and Golf Industries.

John said: “Pure Leisure Group is delighted to add to the Myerscough experience and is grateful for the opportunity to contribute.

 “When I chose to sponsor the Academy it was very much with the thought in mind that this was a good way to offer support, which helps to broaden the learning experience making it enjoyable, enriching and fun.”
