The Foundation Degree in Watersports Leisure Management is designed to provide suitably qualified and trained individuals to meet the demands of the specialist vocation of watersports leisure management.

The degree has been jointly developed by the University of Salford and Myerscough College, in association with The Royal Yachting Association (RYA), the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

Based around the award systems employed by the RYA, PADI and the CMI, the course gives students an in-depth understanding of the watersports industry and links in with the vocational aspects of business and management.

The course is ideal for students wishing to pursue a career in watersports, or those already working in the industry to develop their knowledge and gain a more academic qualification to progress into management roles. Subjects covered include business and management, as well as powerboat management, underwater pursuits, sailing and canoeing.

First class watersports facilities are available at the Salford Quays, and the course is studied at the Salford University campus. The course can be completed in just 2 years full-time and graduates could progress on to a top-up Honours Degree in Watersports Management or straight into employment in the industry.
