Myerscough Junior Football continues to grow
Myerscough Junior Football Club continues to lead the way for excellence in junior football within the Preston area.
The club currently has 20 teams from Under 7 level right through to Under 16 level, including three Girl only teams and this season they have set up two brand new Under 6 and Under 7 teams.
The club hold a series of training sessions at Myerscough College every week with youngsters able to pick up the basics of football in a fun learning environment.
These are held on Friday evenings 5 till 6 pm (Year 2), 6 till 7pm (Year 3) and 7 till 8pm (Year 4) as well as Saturday mornings 9.30 till 10.30am (Reception) and 10.30 till 1.30am (Year 1).
Sessions are open to boys and girls of all abilities and cost £3.50 per session on a pay as you play basis although block bookings for half terms are available at a discounted rate.
Michael O’Neill, the Head Coach of Merscough Junior Football Club, said: “The Club has prospered greatly over the last couple of years and we are seeing some excellent results with many of the teams being very successful in their respective leagues.
“It is always a great delight to see youngsters of all abilities involved with and enjoying football and we are keen to continue our development with the new Under 6 and Under 7 teams.”
All the sessions are linked with Liverpool Academy, where Mike is also a coach, and provide players the chance to progress into Myerscough Junior Football Clubs competitive teams.
Furthermore there is also the chance of eventually progressing on to a Further Education course at the College with three of last years Under 16’s Team starting on Football Studies courses at Myerscough in September 2012.
